Our mission: To be the gateway drug to veganism.
We think adopting a plant based diet should be a fun adventure in eating and living differently, without any pressure to be perfect or never have dietary relapses. But we are only human and we grapple with some aspects of being vegan.
If you identify as vegan but secretly, or even blatantly, crave eggs, cheese or meat, we're cool with that. No one is perfect, and we suspect that deep down inside some of the staunchest vegans still want a good slice of cheddar. (We know we do.)
Do you still have a pile of old favorite wool sweaters in your closet? do you cherish that beat up leather backpack you found at a thrift store ten years ago? are you drinking non-vegan wine and beer? We are far more interested in what constitutes "vegan" than convincing you to ditch all that stuff.
We're not judgey.
We just want to talk about the challenges of adopting a vegan diet, of planning and making vegan meals, and the ongoing struggles and choices we have to make on a daily basis that keep us from being "perfect" vegans.
We also want to share recipes and exchange ideas about how to eat and live a plant-based lifetstyle. We promise not to lecture or make comments like "Ew, MILK. Who wants to drink that??" because we know plenty of good people still drink milk that comes from cows rather than almonds or oats.
